Material: Birch or HDF for Hospitality Clipboards?

Birch Plywood – Visible Quality

Birch plywood is the material of choice for upscale hospitality and hotels. The natural wood grain is visible and gives the board warmth and character. Available in 37 stain colours – from natural to anthracite or deep black. Birch plywood clipboards look premium but are also easy to care for: wipe with a damp cloth or treat with linseed oil as needed.

HDF – Efficient for Large Quantities

HDF (high-density fiberboard) is more resistant to moisture than birch and has a smooth brown surface. For bulk orders from 50 pieces, HDF is the more economical choice – from €2.15 per piece. Especially suited for delivery services, canteens, cafeterias and businesses where the clipboards are exposed to heavy daily use.

Clip: Spring Clip or Wire Clip for Waiting Staff?

For waiting staff, the wire clip is usually the better choice: it can be opened and closed with one hand – handy when the other hand is holding a plate. The spring clip holds paper more firmly but requires two hands to open.

• Wire clip 70 mm – for A5/A6 clipboards; light and handy
• Wire clip 120 mm – for A3/A4; also holds thicker menus and form packets
• Spring clip 110 mm – for A3/A4 in strong wind conditions (outdoor hospitality, terrace)

Choose the clip colour to match your house colour: gold and copper harmonize with warm wood tones, black and silver suit modern interiors.

Engraving: Company Logo and Restaurant Name

An engraving makes the clipboard part of the brand. Restaurant name, slogan, department, or a simple text-based logo can be permanently engraved into the material – on the front and back.

• HDF engraving: Even, high-contrast engraving without wood grain – especially good for lettering and clean designs.
• Birch engraving: Warmer, organic look – the wood grain gives the engraving depth.
• PLEXIGLAS^® engraving: For modern restaurants with a clean design – transparent clipboards with a light frosted engraved image.

Engraving price: from €1.00 base price (one-time per order) plus a text-size surcharge. For 50 pieces with an engraving surcharge of €1.50 each, the total cost stays manageable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can clipboards be cleaned with cleaning and disinfecting products?

Birch plywood and HDF can be wiped with a slightly damp cloth. Strong disinfectants or soaking in water are not recommended – the wood may swell. If you want dirt to show as little as possible, choose HDF – it is less noticeable on the brown surface.

How long does a clipboard last with daily use?

With normal use by waiting staff, birch plywood clipboards last several years. Occasional treatment with linseed oil extends the lifespan and keeps the wood looking fresh. HDF is somewhat more resistant to moisture but harder to maintain with deep scratches.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No – individual clipboards can also be ordered. Volume discounts start automatically from 10 pieces. For test orders, we recommend 2–3 pieces to check material, colour and clip before a bulk order.

How long does delivery take for bulk orders?
